Wim Wenders and Pina Bausch had started to plan a film on Pina's Wuppertal based Dance Theater when Pina unexpectedly passed away. Luckily the project could be carried through nevertheless.
We saw "Pina" in 2012 in a Movie Theatre only shortly before outfitted with advanced 3-D projection equipment. Wender's film technique is in tune with the dance Group and up to the challenge of 3-D visualization. For us it all added up to an unforgettable experience. These small excerpts can hardly even suggest how much stronger the visual impact of the 3-D film really is.
Interestingly, there was a lot of enthusiastic response to "Pina" from people who had never seen a modern dance performance before. Quite often they were not really able to say why they liked it so much. Something just got through...
